Adopt a Holy Bean Bag

Youth Night is off to a running start with 25 to 30 teens, and they need a place to "crash" or sit between pizza, movies, ping pong and foose ball games. A bean bag is a perfect spot to sit (if you are a teen), but we don't want them to just sit in any bean bag. They need to be Holy Bean Bags.

What's a Holy Bean Bag, you ask? It is a Bean Bag you and your spouse or a friend adopt that has been dedicated to God's glory and is prayed over by you in the ongoing weeks and months it will be used. When you adopt your Holy Bean Bags, you are contributing not only the $20 adoption fee per bean bag, but also agreeing to be wise stewards of the bags by praying regularly for the persons who use the bean bags and that the bags be used to God's glory. That is what a Holy Bean Bag is... set apart for God's use.

How do you adopt? Please come to the "Adopt a Bean Bag Table" in the Covenant Cafe' area . We will have an "Intent to Adopt" slip for you to fill out. Turn in you slip and a check payable to Covenant UMC and receive your Adoption Certificate(s).

BIBLE STUDY: 1st & 3rd MONDAY’S OF THE MONTH 1:30—3:30 p.m.  Contact Kathy 760-6501

 IT’S OK TO GRIEVE

Grief recovery is simply ‘feeling better’.  It is the ability to find joy in my life again.  It is to treasure the memories of my loved ones, to miss them and to live better because of the time in my life that I was blessed to have with them.  Grief is not an enemy or a sign of weakness.  It is me being human.  It is my cost for loving someone.  It is inevitable that during my loss I will be deeply effected, shocked and wounded by it.  Grief is the process in which I will work through my loss.

GRIEFSHARE  beginning January 19th   6:15 PM  in the Youth Wing

You are welcome to begin attending the group at any session.  Each session is “self-contained” so you do not have to attend in sequence. For more info please contact the church office 767-8544 or send an email to umc@jesusatcovenant.org.

Please lift up our sister church in Cuba that they might continue to be blessed. They have planted 4 other churches and continue to grow. They are a vibrant  and spiritually rich group of believers in a very economically poor and remote area of Cuba about 8-10 hours outside of Havana (Entronque de Manati in Las Tunas).

If you borrow anything from the church please be sure to contact the church office first so we can put them on the checkout list.   If the office is closed you may call 767-8544 and leave a message of what you are borrowing.  We have folding chairs, a couple of tables, soft coolers, kitchen items and a wheelchair missing. If you have any of these items, please return them.
