MOPS International is a Christian non-profit organization that believes in working with local Christian churches to maximize ministry opportunities to God’s Kingdom.

MOPS Programs are chartered in churches of many different denominations and Christian traditions, but all share the common desire to reach out with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to bring glory to God in everything.  It exists to encourage, equip, and develop every mother of pre-schoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader in the name of Jesus Christ.

"STRESS BUSTERS: SLOW DOWN!"

EFFECTS OF A HURRIED LIFESTYLE

I FEEL MORE STRESS

“I had no time to care for myself…” Song of Solomon 1:6

I LOSE MY JOY

“My days go by faster than a runner; they fly away without my seeing any joy.” Job 9:25

I AM LESS PRODUCTIVE

“Careful planning puts you ahead in the long run; hurry and scurry puts you further behind.” Prov. 21:5 (The Message)

“A person in a hurry makes mistakes.” Prov. 19:2b

I CAN’T HEAR GOD

“Be sill, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

HOW TO SLOW YOUR PACE:

STOP THE CONSTANT PUSH FOR MORE

“It is better to have only a little, with peace of mind, than be busy all the time…”  Eccl. 4:6

“A relaxed attitude lengthens a man’s life; jealousy rots it away.” Prov. 14:30

 LEARN TO SAY “NO”

“An impulsive vow is a trap; later you’ll wish you could get out of it.” Prov. 20:25

OBEY THE FOURTH COMMANDMENT

“You have six days in which to do your work, but the seventh day is a day of rest dedicated to Me.” Ex. 20:9-10

“It’s useless to rise early and go to bed late, and work your      worried fingers to the bone.  Don’t you know God enjoys giving rest to those He loves?” Psalm 127:2

WAIT

“… God does everything just right and on time. But people can never completely understand what He is doing.” Eccl. 3:11

“These things I plan won’t happen right away. Slowly,    steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.” Hab. 2:3

“God, make a fresh start in me, shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my mind.”  Psalm 51:10

"STRESS BUSTERS: BUILD MARGIN!"

“I have no peace! I have no quiet! I have no rest! And

trouble keeps coming!” Job 3:26 (GW)

MARGIN: THE SPACE BETWEEN MY LOAD AND MY LIMIT

 I. THE BENEFITS OF MARGIN

·  More peace of mind

·  Better health

·  Stronger relationships

·  Available for God to use

II. STEPS TO BUILDING MARGIN IN YOUR LIFE

     1. ACCEPT MY HUMAN LIMITATIONS

“I have learned that everything has limits…” Ps. 119:96 (GN)

“Our time is limited. You (God) have given us only so many months to live and have set limits we cannot go beyond.”   Job 14:5 (NCV)

     2. EXPECT TO HAVE PROBLEMS

Jesus: “In this world you will have trouble.” John 16:33 (NIV)

“A prudent person foresees difficulties ahead and takes

precautions: the simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the

consequences.”   Prov. 22:3 (LB)

     3. PUT SPACE IN MY SCHEDULE

“Only someone too stupid to find his way home would wear

himself out with work.”  Eccl. 10:15 (GN)

     4. THIN OUT MY ACTIVITIES

“Everything is permissible for me – but not everything is

beneficial.”  1 Cor. 6:12 (NIV)

     5. DO LESS AND TRUST GOD MORE

“… We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to

endure… As it turned out, it was the best thing that could have

happened. Instead of trusting in our own strength or wits to get

out of it, we were forced to trust God totally – not a bad idea since He’s the God who raises the dead!”   2 Cor. 1:8-9 (NIV/Message)

"STRESS BUSTERS: WHAT MATTERS MOST"

·      “Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be.” Ps. 39:4

·      “Teach us to make the most of our time.” Ps. 90:12

3 TRUTHS TO REMEMBER  TO HELP US FOCUS OUR LIVES AND HELP US REDUCE OVERLOAD.

1. THE BEST USE OF LIFE IS LOVE !

·      “Let love be your highest goal.” 1 Cor. 14:1

·      “No matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love.” 1 Cor. 13:3

·      “There are three things that will endure – faith, hope, and love – and the greatest of these is love.” 1 Cor. 13:13

2. THE BEST EXPRESSION OF LOVE IS TIME !

·      “We must show love through actions that are sincere, not through empty words.”  1 John 3:18

·      “Live a life filled with love for others, following the example of Christ, who loved you and gave Himself as a sacrifice to take away your sins.”   Eph. 5:2

3. THE BEST TIME TO LOVE IS NOW !

·      “Whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone…” Gal. 6:10

·      “Use every chance you have for doing good.” Eph. 5:16

·      “Whenever you possibly can, do good to those who need it. Never tell your neighbors to wait until tomorrow if you can help them now.” Pr. 3:27-28
